Successful closure for our projects in Poland

A decade working for the animals: Bogdan, Anna, Nadja, Michal. Vorne Magda, Katarzyna.

It was an act of strength, a continuous commitment for the animals. When we started we could not foresee how long it would take. We started the first of our projects in Poland more than a decade ago: inspection of the horse market in Bodzentyn in the South of Warsaw in a poor region with around 20,000 animal husbandries. Almost every house had a…

Bodzentyn cattle market. Mainly young animals are being sold recently.

This month our team receives the official information that the horse market in Bodzentyn and the cattle market in Lagow stopped operating. This is the reason why our team has not documented any animals during their market inspections since a couple of months.

Due to the low temperatures not as many animals are being sold at the Bodzentyn cattle market.

At the beginning of February, we observe less animals than usual during our inspection of the Bodzentyn cattle market. We suspect that the reason for the small number of animals at the market is due to the very low temperatures reaching minus 17˚C. However, during next inspections we observe that the number of animals is slightly increasing. We…

Our team is investigating the cattle market in Bodzentyn. In January, we document more traders and animals than during the previous months. Poland | Bodzentyn | Monthly Report November: Cattle and Horse Markets

Bodzentyn. Our team is inspecting the cattle market almost every Saturday.

Due to the very low temperatures this month, the cattle trade did end much earlier than usual. Some traders decided not to unload the animals from their lorries to protect them from the cold. During our inspection we see mostly calves, young cattle and just very few cows. This time we do not observe any animal welfare violations.

Next, our team is…

Poland | Radom | Verdict: dilapidated horse trailer

The trailer construction was fastened with a transport belt to prevent falling apart.

Today, we receive the verdict in a case that is related to an investigation that we carried out on the horse market in Skaryszew in 2018.

During the market inspection, our team discovered a dilapidated horse trailer with big holes in the sidewalls and the floor. The entire construction was only held together by a transport belt. It appeared that…
