Poland | Swietokrzyskie | Monthly Report: December Farm Animal Service (FAS)
This month, our Polish farriers have visited farms 22 times. They have trimmed hooves of 21 horses and corrected teeth of one foal. Four horses have been dewormed and one bull had his skin infection treated. First, we are going to Wola Zamkowa. There, a mare needs regular trimming. If her hooves are not trimmed in time, she injures herself with her hooves when she walks. Our team trims her despite the fact that the owner did not fulfil his obligations: the dog kennel is still neglected. The owner gets a warning and one week to clean it. Next, we are going to Sieradowice to a lame mare. The mare suffers because of neclegted, untrimmed hoofes After trimming she walks without any problems. . The next patient is waiting for us in Brody. Here, we have been helping a mare with deep thrush in her hoof since October. Last month we changed the treatment and now the hoof looks great. The owner also put a lot of effort to heal it. Then, we are going to Stara Słupia where we check if the farmer fulfilled his commitment and whitened the wall of the stable. We are positively surprised. The walls look nice and clean now. In Mlynek we are also pleased to see a finished stable. We are also positively surprised by a farm in Krajno. The farmer changed the bedding to wood shavings instead of straw. It is better for laminitic hooves of his horse. This time because of weather conditions we trim the mare inside the stable, and it goes without any problems. She used to be very nervous during trimming. Finally, we arrive to Rzepin, to see a new foal and check the progress of stable modernization. There are new boxes with walls made of metal frames filled with wood boards. It looks much more safe and professional.
