Tracking: Cattle Transports to Iraq
November 24-28, 2023 | Turkey | Cattle Transports to Iraq
In collaboration with Animals' Angels, our team tracked three cattle transporters, whose license plates were provided by an informant. Our journey spanned over 35 hours across Turkey, through the snow-covered Taurus Mountains, and along the Syrian border to the Harbur/Iraq border. We were at the end of our strength, but the animals had been traveling much longer and were utterly exhausted. Their last feeding stop was in Bulgaria. Since there are no supply stations in Turkey, these transports should never have been approved in Hungary. Our complaints to the Hungarian Ministry and the EU Commission were successful. The transports to Iraq have been halted.
