Training on Animal Transport Inspections in Reus: Theory and Practice in Catalonia

The training is divided in two parts. The first day is dedicated to learning on how to inspect the truck for the purpose of issuing the authorization to transport animals. 33 veterinarians and rural policeman attended the training. A German retired police officer with many years of experience on inspecting the animal transports, joins us a  tutor to spread to knowledge amongst his Catalan colleagues. A transporter provided an empty animal truck so we could perform the practical inspection.

The second day was dedicated to retrospective checks of the animal transports.  It consists of the theoretical and practical part, where 22 attendees are divided in groups to perform practical evaluation of the provided documents.

After the trainings we are informed that the training was well received. The organizers asked the participants to evaluate the training a general score of 3.8 from 4 was given on our performance, knowledge and execution of the training. We are planning to have more trainings in the future.
